Love in Action
Divorce pulled a rug from under my feet.
I landed on the cold floor with no protection, no security, I literally did not know where we will live, could I afford food – it seemed impossible. With my marriage came all my financial security. I was a stay-at-home mom. My experience on my CV dated from 10 years ago…I felt I had absolutely nothing to offer, and even motherhood (the only area of my life that felt as if I made some contribution) was threatened because of my mental health. Divorce equals trauma. I remember the only thought that gave me hope was that of serving God. I knew I could do that…
So, I started with this simple thought. I can serve you God.
But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. (Matthew 6:33)
Some verses in the Bible are like mantras. They become anchors, when the storms threaten your boat to completely lose its way in the chaos, these verses show you the way. Out of sheer desperation I decided to stand on this promise of God. It completely changed the course of my life. As I write this, tears of pain and joy fill my heart. I had to lose almost everything to get to this place. Thank God I did. Thank God for the pain and the hurt, the desperation as humility and dependence on Him were born from this.
Love in Action was the start of what I call “My Kingdom journey”. I simply reached out to the community and volunteered my service. I created projects based on the tug in my heart. I started studying, refining my skills and understanding of pastoral care, community work and therapy. I was approaching this journey as if this was a full-time job/calling – I was working for Him alone.
Living from Grace is Love in Action – the ministry glorifies God’s profound provision and grace for us, but more than this, it magnifies how passing on this grace, brings healing to the giver.
If you stop making trouble for others, if you stop using cruel words and pointing your finger at others, if you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness, and you will be bright like sunshine at noon. The Lord will always lead you. He will satisfy your needs in dry lands and give strength to your bones. You will be like a garden that has much water, like a spring that never runs dry. (Isaiah 58:9-11)
Serving, giving, caring, kindness – these change our hearts. No therapy, no book I read, or podcast I listened to could change and heal my heart the way these fundamental Biblical truths did.
God’s calling on us is pretty clear. He wants us to look for opportunities to serve others. And He will reward us when we align our purpose with His purpose. He provided abundantly – and I simply followed my heart.
My story now had a much deeper meaning and purpose. Kingdom work is living a life beyond yourself. In giving your life away, you find life… Serving equals profound meaning and meaning made me feel deeply joyful and happy.
In short – serve when you need healing. Find meaning if you want to grow.

Brave to Love
Our mission is to reach, rescue, rehabilitate, restore and re-integrate victims and survivors of sex trafficking and the sex trade. We have a special focus on outreach to women working in the sex trade providing support and avenues to transformation.
I completed my Master’s Degree in Narrative Therapy and Community work in 2023. I was honoured to present a paper on the voluntary work I have done working in the sex trafficking industry. In journeying with these women, I was able to investigate the use of creative Narrative practices, and applying this to my work with sex workers. I developed a therapeutic document – the Passport to Freedom, that assisted woman to broaden their sense of identity and to stand up to identity conclusions that defined them as broken, used goods, problems and failures.
